Implant Year Course by Dr Crawford Bain BDS DDS MBA Cert.Perio. – October 2008 to March 2009
This extended hands-on course will provide participants with an in depth foundation in treatment planning, surgical and restorative care and maintenance for the dental implant patient. Upon successful completion of the course participants will be competent to provide all aspects of implant treatment in simple to moderately difficult cases, and will be able to recognize patients who need more advanced specialist care. By the end of course participants should be well prepared to undertake the first part of Edinburgh Royal College of Surgeons Implant Diploma. - Date:

A Hands-on course designed for general practitioners new to referring and restoring dental implants, who wish to increase their knowledge of this popular treatment option; to grow their private patient base; and increase their practice profits.

This course will present a review of implant planning and surgical management and will then focus in depth on the prosthetic management of a variety of implant situations. This will include single tooth replacement, implant bridges, overdentures and full arch restorations. Participants will receive hands-on experience of implant placement and taking impressions for implant restorations on specially prepared models. Participants are encouraged to bring clinical photographs, models and x-rays of their own patients for round table discussion and treatment planning. - Date: 30th September and 21st October 2008

Dental Nurses Course on Surgical Procedures for Dental Implants
This course caters for those new to surgical procedures as well as those who wish to update their knowledge. It will focus on emphasizing the role of the dental nurse as a team member. The theoretical aspects of the technique including infection control, surgical procedures, setting up for implant surgery and materials used for tissue regeneration and bone augmentation will be covered. Up-to-date views on different types of flap design in implant surgery will also be covered with a focus on the BIOMET 3i implant system. Hands on training for preparing and placing implants will also be provided. - Date: 11th October 2008
